18. This is a lot of information. Just where do I start and how do I proceed?
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. It is the text of a Web page, its structure, and its links to other documents. If you are not going to develop your site yourself, you don't need to know more about it. HTML can be seen as a programming language.
2. What are "Frames" and how do they work?
Frames are extension to HTML that allows a Web Site to have several windows on the screen at once. These can then be used to keep a navigation bar or menu on the screen while the user can then scroll through the adjacent information. Frames can be very useful for a large Web Site, allowing the user to easily browse without getting lost in a sea of pages. But Frames are badly seen by search engines. We try to avoid them in our designs.

4. Can I have a web site even if I am not yet connected to the Internet?
Yes. Personal and business Internet access is not required to have a web site. You may set a web site hosted with a hosting service and put all the information there, we have internet access and can host and maintain your site if you wish.
5. How will prospective customers find my new web site?
There are several ways that customers will find your site. First, we can submit a link to several index services, such as Yahoo. Once your site has been up for a week or so, automatic search engines such as AltaVista will index your site so that someone who search for any text that is contained in your site will find your business. Depending on your market, you may want to pay to advertise your site on someone else's higher traffic site. This can be important if your business is a niche market and you are only interested in attracting a certain market segment. But because everyone's marketing needs are different, we can help you to search specific advertising options for your web site. We can also assist you with finding and registering with the key indices for your industry. We offer an option to place your site on the search engines and get you a very good ranking.
6. Can we use our company logo and existing art?
Yes, we can scan the original art and incorporate it into your web pages. Pictures from a brochure can be turned into a Web Site. As a matter of fact, we highly encourage this in order to add a unity to your marketing efforts.
7. We need to access our company database. Is that something you can do?
Yes. We can work with your IS department to code scripts that will securely access your corporate data. Or we can do it all for you.

10. Does NissR Design provide hosting of Web sites?
Yes, we do have. You can choose the plan that provides the perfect match for your needs among our Hosting Packages.
11. What resources does NissR Design have available?
NissR Design has Designers, Graphic Artists and Programmers available to discuss every detail of your web page. We will also subcontract with Graphic Artists and Programmers if we find that your site requires more specialized services and/or intensive effort to meet your schedule.
12. What technology does the team of NissR Design use?
We are experienced at designing pages in standard HTML, dynamic HTML, Perl scripts, JavaScript, Visual Basic script, Java and styles. We will choose a database that meets the project objectives and is compatible with your internal servers. We are comfortable working on UNIX or Windows NT, depending on your hosting requirements.
However, we often choose not to use all the "bells and whistles". The key to success for your site is the ease of use, speed of access, and content. Because of varying computer and browser capabilities, not every feature can be accessed by everyone. For that reason, we generally implement new technology only after it has been in the public domain for a while. Also, complex graphics can be painfully slow to download for the average user. We generally design for the middle ground. Our goal is for your site to be seen and used by the largest number of people.
13. How do we know that our site will work on every browser?
Through the entire design and implementation process, we test the site on the top web browsers. We test across multiple versions and between Windows, Macintosh and UNIX. There will sometimes be minor differences between these platforms but visitors to your site will generally see the same content and look.
14. Can NissR Design help me promote my Web site?
Yes. We can give you tips and discuss with you how to promote your Web Site. We can also take all that in charge so you can use your valuable time to do your own work.
15. How will we track site hits?
If you host your site on our servers, we give a free statistics program that shows nice graphics and a lot of information on your vistors. Otherwise, several good web traffic reporting packages are available. We can help you select a package, install it and interpret the results. Several good free third party servers can do the job for you; we can assist you to choose one.
16. Can NissR Design maintain my Web site?
Yes. NissR Design can either show you how to do your own simple updates or we can handle all the maintenance for you.
17. How easy is it to switch from another design firm to NissR Design?
No problem, We can work with an existing design, or we can provide a redesign depending upon your needs.

- First step: you are doing it right now by getting the necessary information to start.
- Second step: contact us for a free consultation. We will answer any questions you may have, talk with you about what you would like to do with your web site, and give you an idea of what it would cost.
- Third step: Plan your site's content, give us your materials (text, pictures and graphics). So we can start planning the process.
- Fourth step: Get a hosting server and eventually register your domain name, or have us do it for you.
